A flute is the corrugated paper medium bonded between flat liner papers. E, B and C identify different profile heights and pitches. One medium forms single wall; two media form double wall; three media form triple wall. The final performance also depends on the paper combination, orientation, moisture and finished design.

E, B and C are single-wall profiles. EB and BC combine two flutes in a five-paper double-wall board. EBC combines E, B and C in a seven-paper triple-wall board where that grade is available. Exact profile tolerances and paper combinations must be confirmed with the corrugator.
No. Flute profile is only one input. Liner and medium papers, basis weights, recycled or virgin fibre content, flute direction, moisture, scoring and the finished structure all affect performance. Final selection should be tied to a documented board combination and prototype test.
Both are double-wall boards. EB combines fine E flute with B flute and is often selected when graphics and die-cut detail matter. BC combines B and C flutes, creating a deeper section that is often considered for heavier or larger structures.
No. EB and BC are separate double-wall constructions. EBC is a documented triple-wall combination with E, B and C flutes. A custom laminate made from separate sheets would need its own approved lay-up and must not be described as equivalent to EBC.
